He continued to perform across Europe after receiving valuable advice from legends of the 20th century: maestro Claudio Abbado and maestro Seiji Ozawa, who taught him how truly to listen to every voice, and film composer John Barry, who inspired him to create without fear.
Previously, he was mentored in his formative years as a favorite disciple of pianist Byron Janis, who commended his interpretations as having the “infinite imagination and fantasy of you-know-who [Vladimir Horowitz]” and encouraged him to hone his art away from the competition circuit.
MP specializes in Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin, Franck, Rachmaninoff and Ravel, and his own original arrangements for solo and chamber music. His piano recitals include innovations such as audience requests, or performing in complete darkness.
He recently recorded an album of works by Schumann and Chopin, as well as the complete ballades of Chopin for Classical Oasis, a Youtube channel with 40M views. Both releases are expected in the summer of 2025.
